Aleph is searching for a director of development and has been for some time.
I wanted to share a few thoughts on who I think the right candidate is for this role, I don’t think we are necessarily looking for a career fundraiser. We need someone with passion and drive, someone who is dynamic, has an entrepreneurial spirit, someone who is willing to take (and has a tolerance for) risks, and s/he must be very passionate about our work. The right candidate would have experience in starting/leading efforts with a good sense of what needs to be achieved to reach a goal. Ideally, this person would be able to show success in these areas and other types of leadership roles and would be willing to apply this in the area of raising funds for Aleph.
Aleph Institute Director of Development
The Aleph Institute seeks a proven, dynamic, and growth-minded leader to become its National Director of Development, who will develop and lead a multi-channel approach that will increase Aleph’s annual revenue and ensure Aleph is able to sustain and enhance excellence in programs and services. This person will also engage directly in fundraising efforts and meetings around the country (travel provided) within his or her own network of philanthropists, as well as within the network that Aleph has already developed. This person should be deeply familiar with the orthodox Jewish community and culture. This is a unique opportunity to play a leadership role in a vital national organization providing services to an often-overlooked segment of the community. The successful candidate will have significant fundraising leadership experience with demonstrated success in development planning, building capacity, and increasing revenue, as well as experience developing and maintaining productive working relationships with board members, partners, and colleagues. Additionally, the National Director should have excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to convey mission, core values and purpose of Aleph clearly and persuasively. The salary range is $160,000 to $200,000 DOE. To apply please send your resume and cover letter to jobs@aleph-institute.org.

I have several tech and quantitative finance clients looking to hire early-mid career product managers, operations associates, and strategic growth associates (scientific liaisons). Across all of these roles, creative problem solving and the ability to communicate effectively with PhD-level researchers and engineers are crucial for success and internal advancement. All openings are hybrid remote in NYC (3 days/week in-office, option to work remotely the other 2). Extremely competitive salary and benefits at all of these firms.

If you or someone you know might be interested, please email your resume to melanie.lahti@coriolispeople.com.

An independently funded R&D group focused on computational drug discovery research seeks a Strategic Growth Associate to join their small team of ~110 staff in NYC. In this role you would work closely with the firm’s senior scientists and executive committee to identify, evaluate, and hire world-class researchers and engineers for the firm. This role requires a high level of scientific literacy and an inclination toward operational work. It’s a great role for someone who recently finished a PhD in a STEM field and doesn’t want to become a full-time researcher, or someone with a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 2-3 years of project management experience.

A global technology and investment firm seeks a Fund Analytics and Operations Associate to join their team in NYC. In this role you would use your analytical and operational skills to streamline and automate aspects of the trade reconciliation process. You’d also participate in new projects, from the launch of new funds to the trading of new products or entering new markets. This is a great role for someone with 1-3 years of experience beyond a Bachelor’s degree who is extremely systems-minded and enjoys creating automated processes and workflows. Experience with advanced Excel and some SQL is helpful. Great opportunity to join a small firm and interact directly with the CFO from early in your tenure!

Another global technology and investment firm seeks Associates to join their Product Operations team and the COO’s office (internal consulting). The Product Ops team’s opening is similar to an Associate Product Manager role at a tech firm and great for a new grad looking to grow into a Product Manager/Owner role in the tech space. The COO’s office presents an opportunity to work on operational and strategic initiatives from inception to completion and interface directly with the firm’s Executive Committee. In the past, successful candidates have come from top consulting firms, public policy roles, and even academia. These roles do not require a technical background, though a high level of numeracy and analytical savvy are expected.
