Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Underwrite primarily conventional loan applications, ensuring adherence to company and investor guidelines.
  • Evaluate and verify applications – determining whether the borrower will be able to repay the loan.

Residential Mortgage Closer/Funder

 

We are looking for a Mortgage Closer to coordinate all phases of loan closing. The Mortgage Closer’s responsibilities include preparing loan closing packages, communicating with all parties involved in the transaction, and ensuring that all paperwork is complete, accurate, and in compliance with legal regulations.

Mortgage Closer Responsibilities:

  • Review the mortgage application received from the loan officer. Verify the information identified in the loan origination system. Verify the accuracy of the TILA/RESP A disclosures and all state/federal disclosures to ensure compliance with federal laws. Make sure that all documents are prepared within regulatory requirements;
  • Obtain accurate closing costs from attorney assigned to each loan, and make sure they are correctly added to loan origination system before finalizing documents for customers;
  • Input and confirm data required to generate closing documents.
  • Setup wires for funding;
  • Work directly with Escrow /Title on all closings ensuring all funding conditions have been satisfied;
  • Liaison for Closers, settlements agent, attorneys. Plan, organize, prioritize and coordinate work flow to meet deadlines.

Mortgage Closer Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience funding loans    
  • Experience with Encompass preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software programs.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a high volume environment.

Job Description
Nomura is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as an Analyst within the Investment Banking division in New York.
The Analyst will closely support the financial institutions industry group (FIG). Our FIG team provides financing and advisory
services to financial institutions worldwide, with dedicated coverage bankers across Asia, Europe and North America. The FIG
team in New York focuses on servicing insurance, asset management and other financial services companies, with superior
cross-border and domestic transaction capabilities, leveraging strong partnership with other Nomura product and coverage
teams globally.
Nomura is seeking candidates interested in being a part of a growing, entrepreneurial environment. As FIG Analyst, you will

have the opportunity to gain valuable industry and product knowledge. The Analyst will assist in coverage of Nomura’s US-
based clients, and also gain extensive exposure to cross border coverage opportunities. Senior bankers provide Analysts with

significant opportunity to attend and participate in client meetings with leader firms across the FIG sector. The candidate will
be part of a focused, dynamic team.
Requirements
§ Outstanding academic qualifications; as evidenced by a strong GPA
§ Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is mandatory, including ability to create financial models
§ 1-2 years of prior experience in investment banking
§ Bulge bracket investment banking training
§ Keen interest in financial markets and investment banking
§ Intellectually curious with a strong aptitude and desire to learn
